An  RSPB Local Group  is a group of RSPB supporters who have joined together
to combine their enjoyment of birds with their collective aim of helping the RSPB.

Local groups are formed primarily to help the Society carry out its principal objectives as set out in the Royal Charter:

* To conserve wild birds, the wider environment on which wild birds depend, maintaining or improving
where appropriate bird numbers, diversity and natural geographic distribution.

* To conserve natural and semi-natural habitats and to recreate habitats.

* To encourage others to practise the conservation of wild birds and habitats.

* To promote knowledge of conservation through education and research.

In addition there are two other important objectives:

* To help recruit members for the RSPB

* To help raise funds to enable the Society to carry out its conservation work.

The  Battle Group  is a small friendly group with around 100 members of all ages and abilities
who live in Battle and the surrounding area of East Sussex.

For a yearly subscription of £2.50 (£3.50 for a couple) our members receive a twice-yearly newsletter,
(which includes details of our programme of indoor meetings and field trips)
and reduced admission charges for meetings.

Visitors are welcome at any of our meetings or outings.

There is another active Local Group covering Hastings and St Leonards-on-Sea,
and we will be happy to pass any e-mail enquiries to them.
